12 Days of Blogmas: The Worst of 2016

'On the last day of blogmas my true love said to me, let's leave all this BS in 2016!'
Hello everyone.
I don't want to put a downer on my blog but it is pretty safe to say that 2016 was the definition of poop and other synonyms.
A lot of sad, bad and heart breaking things happened this year. I know you probably don't need reminding but I just thought I would list the worst of the worst, and hopefully we can leave horrible things like these behind as we approach the new year!

12 Days of Blogmas: The Best of 2016

'On the 11th day of blogmas, my true love gave to me, the best moments from 2016!'
Hello everyone.
Today's post is a little different. 2016 has been a bit of a rollercoaster for most of the world; from presidential debates to the countless celebrity deaths. I am saving all the bad moments for tomorrow's post because today, I want to focus on all the small but positive things 2016 gave us.
From things which made the entire world smile, to little things that happened in my life, here are some things that made 2016 one of the best years:

12 Days of Blogmas: My Sound of 2016

'On the tenth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a music favourites of 2016'
Hello everyone,
if you have been reading my blog for a while, you may recall that I wrote something like this last year. Music is just a constant favourite in my life, and I assume, all of yours too. I wanted to share my favourite songs, albums and shows that I've been to in 2016, without further ado, let's go!

12 Days of Blogmas: The Christmas Tag

Hello everyone,
it's CHRISTMAS EVE!!!
I hope you all are sipping a glass of bucks fizz, stuffing yourself with cheese pretzels and wearing cosy, Christmas knits.
I thought today's post would be something small and easy to read, so without further ado, here is my Christmas Tag:

12 Days of Blogmas: Tis the Season to Give Back

'On the sixth day of Blogmas my true love gave to me, a reminder that life isn't always a dream'
Hello everyone.
We are officially halfway through blogmas, which is so COOL. Can you believe that I managed to think of twelve festive posts?
Today I wanted to dwell on the fact that holidays, whichever you may celebrate or enjoy, can be a difficult time for some. There may be people who are lonely, living rough or simply cannot afford to celebrate. It is so saddening to me, that in 2016, there is still a huge need for donations of good will. It's been estimated that in the UK alone, around 25,000 young people will be sleeping rough over Christmas, whilst 1 in 6 people find it to be the loneliest time of the year.
Now, this post isn't encouraging you to donate hundreds of thousands of pounds, but to show that there are some really small, simple ways you can help someone this holiday season.

12 Days of Blogmas: Top 5 TV Specials

'On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, Christmas specials on the TV'
Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying 12 Days of Blogmas so far. Today's post is dedicated to five of my favourite Christmas TV specials. I don't really watch much TV these days, but there is something about a Christmas episode I just cannot resist. So here goes, my five favourite Christmas TV Specials, in no ascending order:

12 Days of Blogmas: Top 5 Festive Films

'On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, films that are Christmassy'
Hello everyone,
'12 Days of Blogmas' is well and truly underway and I really hope you're enjoying what I've been writing. I figured we all have a favourite Christmas film, which we replay on a loop every December. From classics to more modern movies, sitting in front of the TV with your family and a few tins of chocolate is a Christmas tradition. If you want to know which movies have made my 'Top Five Festive Films' list, then keep on reading!

12 Days of Blogmas: Alternative Christmas Party Playlist

'On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a playlist that was christmassy'
Hello everyone, welcome back to blogmas! If you know me, you know that I L-O-V-E music and I am pretty fond of Christmas. I made this playlist a while ago but I never shared it here, and I thought that blogmas would be the perfect time to do so. Whether you are a bit of a Scrooge or an absolute Christmas cracker, I am sure you will really enjoy this playlist.

12 Days of Blogmas: Top 5 Christmas Adverts

'On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me, TV and something blogmassy'
Hello everyone, yesterday I posted my first blogmas post, and I am back with another. Today I thought I would write something a little bit shorter, but with the added bonus that you get to watch stuff!
We all have a favourite Christmas advert. This year I am loving the John Lewis one, obviously because it features a dog and fox. I am not entirely sure if this Christmas Ad addiction is a global thing or something just here in England. But, I am going to share my top five favourite Christmas adverts below, just to spread some festive fun into your day.
Disclaimer: none of these are in an ascending order xo

12 Days of Blogmas: My Letter to Santa

'On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, the first in a blogmas series!'
Hello everyone, today is the first of my twelve blogmas posts and I am so excited for you to read the posts in this series. This is my first time trying blogmas and I am really proud that I am managing to get posts out.
As it is my first post I thought I needed to write something that would be interesting to read. I am going to assume the last time any of you wrote a letter to Santa was quite a few years back, and I think some of my requests may be pretty relatable. So here goes:

Grace VanderWaal: Perfectly Imperfect

Hello everyone,
it's been a while since my last music review and I am so excited to be sharing this post. Before I jump into the review of Grace VanderWaal's EP, Perfectly Imperfect, I thought I would give a little summary of Grace, for those of you who don't know her.

November 2016 Favourites

Hello everyone,
it has been a while since my last favourites post. I wanted a little break from doing the same style of posts, but I have been loving so many things recently and I wanted to share them with you.

Music: Towards the end of this month my beautiful Stranger Things Vinyl arrived and it is just the most dreamy, dramatic thing in the world. I know you can get the soundtrack on CD and possibly can stream it, but nothing will be as pleasing as the vinyl version. I am really mourning the lack of Stranger Things in my life at the minute, and this record makes me feel like I am in Hawkins. Even if you haven't watched the series, if you want to listen to something soothing and atmospheric, this is perfect for you.

twenty one pilots @ Alexandra Palace

Hello everyone,
the time has come for me to talk about a very emo day. Emo in a good way, might I add. On November 11th I saw MY FAVOURITE BAND live for the first time and I cannot even begin to express how SUPERB it was.

Primark Matte Lipsticks: A Review

Hello everyone,
I am back and bursting with post ideas, which is a Christmas miracle!
I would like to start this by saying I sadly am not NikkieTutorials, so being a beauty Goddess is not part of my CV. However, I am obsessed with liquid lipsticks. From KVD to NYX, nudes to reds, lipsticks are my favourite beauty product.

A Disney Vlog

Hello everyone,
my last post was all about my trip to Disneyland Paris and I mentioned a potential vlog. Well the time has arrived with great difficulty. I'm going to leave the link here, but please let me know whether it says it is unavailable because if so, I will just have to delete it, add another song, cry for ten hours over how nothing I do ever goes right, and then reupload it.
Until next time, take care,
love, Aimee :) xx

Aimee Was In Disneyland Paris

Hello everyone,
So I would like to start this by thanking everyone and anyone who read my 'Here Comes Halloween' series. I truly hope you enjoyed them and I really hope to do something similar over the Christmas period.
Moving on from this, I want to tell you all about my recent trip to Disneyland Paris. It was honestly one of the best times I have had in my life. I hope I won't ramble too much. I visited the park from the 29th of October to November 1st. If you read my TBT post, you will know that I was also at the park last Halloween. It has become some kind of tradition I am hoping to keep.

Here Comes Halloween: My 2016 Costume

Hello everyone,
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! The day is finally upon us to be as spooky as possible. I hope you have an unhealthy amount of treats and at least one horror movie marathon planned.
I thought it would be cool to share my Halloween costume for this year, in my final post. I am SO EXCITED ABOUT IT, and I am convinced that no other costume idea I ever have will live up to this one.
So, the big reveal, my Halloween Costume is...
SPINELLI FROM RECESS!!!!!
Now, I am not sure exactly where the idea came from. I'm relatively sure there was a Twitter hashtag involving describing yourself in fictional characters, and alongside April from Parks and Rec and Wednesday Addams, Spinelli was featured.  I have also been planning my Disney trip and I became so mad about there being no Recess themed ride. It is an OUTRAGE. So, I am forcing Recess upon Disney with my costume.
I am also convinced that I won't ever take the costume off and I will just live my life as the real version of Spinelli. I cannot wait to be her for the Soiree at Disneyland Paris. Honestly, if I had enough friends I would force them into being the entire cast. I don't even mean just T.J, Gretchen, Vince, Mikey and Gus. I mean EVERYONE! Recess just gives me such great memories from growing up. I would quote the Ashley's 'SCANDALOUS' so much at school and I would always, always binge watch the show. I hope it's one thing that doesn't get some horrendous 2016+ revival.

Here Comes Halloween: The Celebrity Edition

Hello everyone,
TOMORROW IS HALLOWEEN, CAN YOU FEEL THE PUMPKIN SPICE RADIATING THROUGH THE SCREEN????
I have really enjoyed writing these posts, and I hope you are excited to read my final two Halloween submissions.
Today I thought it would be fun to take a step back from our mere mortal versions of Halloween, and step into Hollywood's Halloween. There are countless celebrities who truly know how to get into the spirit (yes I know, how punny) and dress for the occasion. Below I have listed my top five costumes as worn by celebrities.

Here Comes Halloween: 5 Things to Do

Hello everyone,
we are just DAYS away from Halloween. I can hear doorbells ringing as people go trick or treating and I am so excited! I thought it would be a good idea, for those of you who may still not have plans, to write some ideas as to how to have the best Halloween yet!
So here goes, my top five things to do this Halloween:

Here Comes Halloween: 3 Easy Recipes

Hello everyone,
it is time for another Halloween themed post. Today it is all about food! Now I know all you really want to do is devour an entire bowl of candy and maybe two or three toffee apples, but these three little recipe ideas are super fast, super tasty and super suited for this spooky season. So, take a bite out of these:

Here Comes Halloween: Disney Halloween TBT

Hello everyone,
so in today's edition of 'Here Comes Halloween' i'm going to be very emo and indulge in my Halloween celebrations from last year, which involved DISNEYLAND PARIS!!!

Here Comes Halloween: 3 Easy Makeup Looks

Hello everyone,
today I am bringing you three very easy makeup looks which are perfect for Halloween. Before I begin, I would like to point out that I am a) not trained and only play with makeup with fun so b) if you don't like the quality of it then please just ignore it.  I suppose the benefit of me not being Nikkie Tutorials is that my crappy makeup is perfect for Halloween, when you are trying to look as creepy as possible.
Before I go into the three looks, I am going to quickly list what you'll need at hand, because I used pretty much all of this for each look:

Here Comes Halloween: Pumpkin Party Playlist

Hello everyone,
so, for Halloween you need some snazzy, spooky décor and a creepy costume, but today I have another essential for helping you get into the spirit of Halloween. Whether you're hosting a party or just want a new playlist to listen to, then I have just the right thing for you.
Here are my ultimate songs for the spookiest playlist:

Here Comes Halloween: TV with a TWIST

Hello everyone,
today's post is for those of us with Netflix and marathoning shows addictions. There are so many series out at the moment which are either creepy AF or just downright disturbing. If there's hole in your life now that you don't have anything to binge watch then I have listed the ultimate twisted shows below, to keep you entertained this Halloween season.

Here Comes Halloween: Subtle Decor and Items

Hello everyone, I hope you've been enjoying my 'Here Comes Halloween' series so far!
For today's post I thought it would be cool to share some very subtle spooky items, for people who want to make their room feel more Halloweeny, or for people surrounded by HallowHaters! It is so easy to get caught up in Halloween decorations, in the past week I've seen candy bowls, light up cat shaped pumpkins, distressed table cloths and creepy clown statues that move! But amidst all of this I have managed to find some super cute items to give your home a little touch of creepiness and they are listed below:

Here Comes Halloween: Costume Ideas 2016

Hello everyone,
I am back with yet another Halloween themed post, this time it comes in the form of costume ideas. Now, I am not the most creatively gifted, inventive person out there, so these ideas are all super easy to D.I.Y and some also come online as pre made costumes which is good if you don't have the time to make a costume. *disclaimer* I am just going to apologise in advance for number five!
Here are my top five Halloween costume ideas for this year:

Here Comes Halloween: Frightful Films

Hello everyone,
this is my second post in my 'Here Comes Halloween' series and I am so excited for all of these upcoming posts to go live!
Following on from my previous post, which was dedicated to all those faint hearted and fearful friends, today's post is the opposite of that and is dedicated to all the fear thrill seekers in the world!
Whether it's blood, guts or just a very creepy plot you're after, there is bound to be something on this list for you. So here goes, my top five frightful films which are perfect for Halloween viewing:

Here Comes Halloween: Fright Free Films

Hello everyone,
this is the first in my little feature series I'm doing over the next ten days, all dedicated to my favourite day of the year- Halloween. Now as the reigning Halloqueen/Hallopreme, it is only fitting that I should share some ideas on how to have the spoopiest Halloween you've ever had.
Now I know some people really don't have a tolerance for gore and guts and spookiness, which is why I have decided to dedicate my first post to the faint hearted, because everyone should enjoy Halloween!
Here are my top five, fright free films for you to enjoy on October 31st:

Kat Von D(ebenhams): Mini Haul

Hello everyone,
Let me start this post by getting the inevitable apologies for delays in posts part out of the way! I would like to say this is a result of my life being super busy but really I'm just very good at procrastinating anything and everything. But alas, here I am, so fresh and clean and filled with quite a few posts in my head, ready to be written.
Unless you've been living under a rock or you live in a country where KVD makeup is accessible, then you will be unaware of the major hype that has rocked the UK given that Kat Von D's insanely beautiful makeup has dropped on our side of the world. Thanks to Debenhams my bank account can now scream even louder over makeup purchases. Now, I did spend around £50, but by no means did I binge buy. I was able to stop myself from getting EVERYTHING and managed to buy just a few things to test out.

August 2016 Favourites

Hello everyone,
it seems I have actually managed to maintain a monthly theme on my blog which is a pretty big achievement for the procrastination princess! I've been loving ALOT of things in the month of August and I thought I'd share my top loved things here with you. So, here goes:

Home- I've mentioned in a few previous posts that Primark are really reigning in their homeware department. I was, as usual, in there for one thing and ended up leaving with more than what I set out to. On this occasion it happened to be a cute cushion which has Belle on one side and Cinderella on the other, which is basically two cushions for the price of one, so my regret isn't that strong. I can't remember the price but it was definitely less than £10 and it is perfect for any Disney lover out there.

Aimee Was Watching: Stranger Things

Hello everyone,
Before I begin rambling, I should mention that this post is sponsored by a long weekend of binge watching, crying and stuffing my face with Pringles!
For those of you who have been living under a rock this summer, I'm about to delve into why Stranger Things, a Netflix original series, is one of the greatest shows in recent years. Seriously. You've probably seen people Tweeting about it, talking about it and hyping about it all over the internet, so I'm sorry-not-sorry to be adding fuel to the fire of this show's popularity.
Before I jump into the narrative and any potential spoilers, I want to list five things that make this show just so damn great:

July Favourites

Hello everyone,
what's that you hear? the sound of me giving yet another apology for a delay in posts!!! I really am sorry. Life has been chaotic recently what with graduation, overtime at work and a little thing called Pokémon Go! I am here with another favourites post (sans pics because honestly I'm getting lazy in my old age of 21). Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy this mini post, which I'm hoping will get me back into the habit of writing regularly.

June 2016 Favourites

Hello everyone,
So technically we are in July now (which is crazy, I can already smell Christmas), however, I wanted to do a little post for you all. I don't know about you but I am a little obsessed with favourites posts and videos on YouTube. I know most of them are pretty similar, so I hope you don't judge me for writing one. I'm not entirely sure if there's a specific way to do one of these, I'm just going to wing it and (hopefully) briefly summarise my current favourite things. Here it goes:

21 Songs that Shaped My Life

Hello everyone,
I'm here with another 21st birthday themed post. What I forgot to mention in my thing's I've learned post, is that music is everything. Whether you're at a wedding, birthday party, concert, funeral, or a car journey, there's a song that goes with it.
I wanted to write a quick post mentioning just 21 of the songs that have been significant in my life. This list is in no ascending order and the songs were SO HARD to narrow down, but here they are:

21 things I've learnt in 21 years

Hello everyone,
so Monday marks my 21st birthday, which is pretty scary. I feel like just yesterday I was writing my 20th birthday post.
Because I'm really good at being emo, I thought I would write a post about 21 things I've learned in life. Honestly I will be surprised if I make it to five things let alone 21 but lets see how this goes!

For Christina

Hello everyone,
so today I'm writing something a little different to my usual posts. I didn't want to jump straight into writing this, so I've given myself a few days to let events sink in and think about the right thing to say, if there is one.

Music Monday: Summer Playlist

Hello everyone,
I'm writing this as what feels like a Mediterranean  storm of humidity is passing through my town. This weather is so welcome for several reasons:
  • The copious amounts of ice creams/lollies I can survive off of
  • Barbecue and picnic season giving me many opportunities to do two of my favourite things- eat and see friends and family
  • Lemonade just tastes 94948992498492 times better (insert Luke Hemmings sweet lemonade on a hot day quote)
  • PIMMS!!!

Mini Life Update

Hello everyone,
It has been a (very) long time since my last post. How are you? Is everything going okay?
I hope that if you're reading this then you are not incredibly disappointed in my long absence and also I hope you're looking forward to future posts :)
This is just a little chance for me to tell you a little about what's been going on in my world, and what you can expect from my upcoming posts.

5SOS SLFL London and Brighton

Hello everyone,
I cannot believe the time has come for me and my pals to hit the road for the Aussies all over again. The last few days have been so incredible and I wanted to document it here so I can remember it. If you don't like 5SOS then please just stop reading because things are about to get EMO, real emo.
We (me, Emmy, Amy and Emma) got to our super cute apartment in London on Thursday, plugged in a laptop and started searching for tickets. It didn't take long for us to snap up some in a block on Calum's side, given we are being Michael AF for the rest of tour. We played a 5SOS version of heads up and C.A.H (Karen Clifford's ham and all that jazz) before stumbling to the venue.

Mini Primark haul

Hello everyone,
I'm doing something a bit different today. I was split between blogging this and vlogging it but I haven't been able to find the right time or place to film so here I am, sticking to my best method of communicating what I think is cool.
I am obsessed with hauls lately. Makeup, clothes and 99 Cent Store hauls being my preferred procrastination videos. I went to Primark earlier this month in the search of a few staple pieces and I am here to show you what I bought and why you should buy them on a pay day!

FBF: Halsey Badlands Tour

Hello everyone,
I apologise for the slump my blog has been in recently, what with my DISSERTATION and procrastination levels at an all time high.
I love Halsey. I've bragged about her in several posts and I really wanted to share the great experiences I had seeing her whilst she was in the UK. She may be a new artist but she is one of my all time favourite people to see live; her crowds are diverse, glitter coats my skin and I get to see some of my favourite humans in the process.
Let's kick this off with the Birmingham show and my trip to Camp Badlands. Emmy, Amy and I had a little stop off at TGI's for cocktails (mine was a hurricane, how fitting) before we headed to the venue. There were a few queues which seemed confusing but we weren't in the cold for too long. A guy (I'm really sad I don't know his name because he was SO POLITE, and a itty bitty little bit cute) gave us our wristbands and passports, which were stamped upon entry. Inside, all of the freaking amazing artwork that Halsey's shared at a few other events were displayed. Film poster esque versions of her songs, which I really hope become merch because I want to plaster my walls with them. There was a cute pink and blue Badlands backdrop where you could take photos and have them printed as cute post cards using a hashtag, and there was also the opportunity to buy discounted merch (we as a squad opted for the 'Send Help' dad caps).

A very Lush Valentine's

Hello everyone,
I know a little while ago I made a promise to have a regular Lush series however I just haven't committed to this, I'm sorry. I blame the fact that as soon as I buy something there I instantly have to use it, I'm reckless and don't have the self control to blog about it.
However, here I am with a mini season Lush themed post which I hope you'll enjoy. It's a small, sweet post, much like the three Valentine's products I've chosen. Generally I'm not a fan of Valentine's- if you're going to love yourself/a partner then do it every day, not just because some card shop told you to! With that said though, I wasn't going to resist the opportunity for seasonal Lush products!
Let's get into this:

A weekend with The Maine

Hello everyone,
as we all know, I'm fairly emo. I get v. emosh about many things, from dogs to books to bands. One thing in particular that's made me emo since my early teens is a band (or Arizona Emo Group if you prefer) by the name of The Maine. I haven't seen this band live since 2010 so you can imagine that the emo scale did increase by 8123 (get it?). I had the absolute time of my life these past few days and so I wanted to write about it, so I can always remember and relive it.
The story starts in Birmingham, which is the place I first saw them live in (when I was smaller and less emo, but only slightly). As it always does, it rained from the moment I stepped out of the coach station and to the moment I got in my front door. What's interesting, and by interesting I mean HELLA EMO about this tour is that The Maine are on tour with Mayday Parade and that's the same tour (though it was co headlining the first time) I saw them on in 2010. It was as though the emo circle pit came rushing at full force.

What to expect in 2016

Hello everyone,
so this is my very first post of the year and I am hoping to be as, if not more, efficient with my blogging life this year. I really hope you enjoy reading whatever I babble on about because I enjoy blogging, and writing, so much and all of your reactions, however small, mean so much to me.
I thought this post would be split in two parts- what I'm hoping for 2016 and what you can expect from me in terms of content. So here goes:
Aimee's 2016 hopes:
I tend not to have resolutions because they never work out and I'm not essentially against my current lifestyle so much that I think I need to make drastic changes. These are just small things I'd like to accomplish.
