I can't exactly define what it is about Halloween that I love so much. Mainly I love being able to embrace all the things about myself which may be seen as creepy any other time of year, such as my adoration for Horror, creepy makeup looks and interest in serial killers.
Disney on the other hand is pretty easy to define. It is the magic of escaping in a fantasy world, filled with characters who I have grown up with and loved. A place where I feel safe and at my most free spirited. So many of my greatest memories come from Disney- be it through Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo being the first films I saw in the cinema, to exploring the Parks and creating life lasting moments.
So, between the months of late August to November, when Disney Parks across the globe fuse with the spirit of Halloween, I kind of lose my sh*t a little! Here's some reasons as to why I love Disney at Halloween:
- The Villains come out in full swing, with a large portion of the limelight: You may usually get to see your favourite Princess or costume character when visiting a Park, but during Halloween season, all of the Villains are celebrated. This is done via their meet and greets, shows and parades which I am always in awe of! There's nothing better than walking through Disneyland Paris to see Dr Facilier working his voodoo or Lotso hugging and plotting during the MNSSHP in Orlando!
- Mickey shaped pumpkins: Be them used as décor throughout the parks, lanterns for candles or mugs as merchandise, I cannot not love a Mickey shaped pumpkin!
- Extra spooky snacks: Walt Disney World offered a pumpkin spice cinnamon roll shaped like Mickey which I purchased, Instagrammed and cried over.
- Treats: During the Villains meet and greets at Disneyland Paris, Cast Members give out little bags of Haribo and during the MNSSHP Cast Members give out pretty much every chocolate known to man. What more could a girl (or guy) love?
- MERCHANDISE: Disney kills the game when it comes to merchandise, and Halloween is the ultimate time when my Disney spending habits reach a new low (but high, if you get me). There will be spooky pins, mugs, plushes, shirts and more.
- Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party: I've been lucky enough to go the Halloween Party in Paris and the MNSSHP in Orlando. Both were completely terrific. The effort relating to the additional Halloween Party floats, parades, costumes and songs amazes me. They are a must for any Disney fan in the world!
See you in my next post.
