Whether your makeup skills are
Scarecrows are, quite self explanatory, decoys made by crop farmers etc to keep birds off of their produce. For me, Scarecrows can remind me of The Wizard of Oz, but most of the time remind me of the absolute fear I had whilst watching Jeepers Creepers when I was at an age where I definitely shouldn't have been watching Jeepers Creepers!
All you need to achieve a spooky scarecrow look is some eyeliner, white face paint/liner, orange/colour of your choice eyeshadow and face paint.
I began this look my extending two black lines where my mouth would naturally smile, using black liquid eyeliner. I then drew small vertical lines over the smile, to create the effect of stitching along the mouth.
Next, I drew a kind of Beauty Blender shape on the end of my nose with liquid liner. I filled this shape with some orange eyeshadow and then went over this with the NYX Vivid Brights liquid liner in the shade Vivid Delight. This just gave extra pigment to the nose and the effect is supposed to create the illusion of patchwork underneath the skin. For an extra bit of pattern, I popped some white face paint on the tip of my nose.
Moving on to the cheeks. I drew out two small circles and around the circles added some lines, almost like a sunshine. In the centre of the circles I added some orange eyeshadow, as if to be like patchwork blush, and then around this I added white face paint to create some kind of dimension to it.
I then popped some of the orange eyeshadow in to my crease and swiped some white kohl eyeliner under my eyes to give them the appearance of being bigger than they are. I then drew out some fake lashes on my lower lash line, as I felt this created a creepy element to the look.
Overall this is a quick and simple look to achieve. I think the three lines of black face paint on the centre of my lips gives the effect of the mouth looking tight, almost as if it has been pulled together by stitching.
Finish this look by popping on a plaid shirt, jeans and then a hair accessory. I opted for this pink bandana, but you could also choose a straw hat.
See you in my next post!
