First Impressions: Pink Parcel

Final Frightdown: Kitten

I live for Halloween. I pretty much spend every second of my life trying to make it spookier. I love horror films, creepy cute things and most importantly, playing with makeup.

I have decided to use my next few posts to create some last minute, easy to do, Halloween looks. So if you are looking for inspiration ideas as to who or what you can become this October 31st then you are in the right place.

Disclaimer* I pretty much damn suck at makeup, so whilst these looks may not look all that fantastic, I have faith that your recreations will be horrifyingly good!

For today's look, we are going in the stereotypical costume idea of cat/kitten. I for one am pretty scared of cats, so this is a relatively fitting look for Halloween. For this look I used the Makeup Revolution SFX palette, but you could use any brand of face paints so long as they are white and black. I also used a grey eyeshadow and a heck ton of eyeliner!

I began this look by doing a feline nose contour. Cats have the cutest, teeniest most structured noses. I did this by taking a thin tipped brush dipped in the white paint and lining from my tear duct, down my nose and gradually getting thinner and slightly triangular at the tip of my own nose. I filled in this triangle shape with the white paint, ensuring it was pretty well blended out. To carve this out further I took a grey eyeshadow and lined the outside of the triangle shape, similar to a conventional nose contour. With black paint, I made a slightly oval shape on the tip of my nose and then went over this with black eyeliner. Nose = done!

For the eyes I knew I wanted the thickest, longest wing possible. Think Chrissy Costanza if she were catwoman! I made the shape of the wing first, extending it beyond the end of my brow. I tugged this slightly under my eye and then had a thick line along my lashes, almost at Amy Winehouse level! This is optional but I also added a bit of mascara to make the eyes pop.

I then added whiskers with my eyeliner. I placed a dot in the center of my cheeks and then drew out three lines connected to it. I also decided to pop some freckles along the nose but again, this optional.

After this I used the liner to draw a line from below my nose to my mouth, and then outlined the top of my lip so it was as though I had some kind of kitten mustache! I added gloss to my lips to give them some colour. Finally I popped on some cat ears which you can purchase from numerous places such as Claire's, New Look, Topshop and Poundland.

Outfit wise you could go in all black, add a black choker and create your own name tag to pop onto it! Tails are also available in most Halloween aisles!

And voila, you are ready to pounce on Halloween with your whiskers at the ready!

See you in my next post!
