Welcome back! My last post was a Mrs Potato Head inspired look and today's post is also influenced by Melanie Martinez. Crybaby is the protagonist featured in the songs of her album of the same name. If you are familiar with Melanie's work, you may be aware of the eccentric looks which compliment her work.
A Crybaby look is incredibly easy to achieve, and you don't have to have heard or be a fan of Melanie in order to rock it this Halloween. All you need is some white kohl liner, colourful eyeshadows, black liquid liner, blue eyeshadow and colourful lipstick.
I began this look with the eyes, taking my MUA Silent Disco Palette (for which I have an in depth review) as it has an array of colours to choose from. I blended a mix of pink, green and purple into the crease, and then lightly ran some red shadow along my lower lash line, giving the effect of sore, cried out eyes. I applied liquid liner to my top lash line, but this is optional. I then swiped some white kohl liner into my bottom water line, in order to create a doll like effect and make the eyes appear bigger.
Next, I went on to the main part of the look- those Crybaby tears. I drew out small almond shaped tears with black liquid liner randomly below my eyes. I then filled them in with a mix of a navy and sky blue shadows. I also popped some gem stickers onto my face. I got mine from The Works but you can find them on Amazon or most crafting/stationary retailers. I felt these added an element of playing dress up to the look, which is something Crybabies love to do!
Melanie often has bold makeup looks, therefore I took my most striking lipstick to tie up the makeup look. I opted to use the NYX Liquid Suede lipstick in the shade Stone Fox, which is a grey toned blue shade.
To complete the look, I decided to part my hair into bunches and then threw on a cute Care Bears top which had the words 'Hug Patrol' on. All in all, opting for my most childlike items!
I hope you enjoyed this look.
See you in my next post.
