Here Comes Halloween: TV with a TWIST

Hello everyone,
today's post is for those of us with Netflix and marathoning shows addictions. There are so many series out at the moment which are either creepy AF or just downright disturbing. If there's hole in your life now that you don't have anything to binge watch then I have listed the ultimate twisted shows below, to keep you entertained this Halloween season.

  1. American Horror Story: Murder House (2011, Ryan Murphy)

You probably can't escape the craze for AHS. Whether it's the original Murder House series, Asylum, Coven, Hotel, Freakshow or the latest 'Roanoke' run, you're bound to be familiar with the creepiness of this show. Personally Murder House is my favourite because it is the series which kick started the craze. The mind of Ryan Murphy is very interesting, considering he's responsible for AHS and Glee. If you have a strong stomach for disturbing scenes then I would highly recommend this series, and all of them, to you.
  2. Scream (2015, MTV)

This series is based on the Wes Craven cult classic series of the same name. The reason I've listed it is because the episodes are relatively short and there are only two series, which in theory, should only take a week to binge watch. Both seasons feature the same cast, though minus one or two through quite gory murder scenes, and both feature HUGE PLOT TWISTS. Thanks to my pal/bro Ernie, I am so invested in this series and what's even better is that there is going to be a Halloween special on October 18th!
  3. Stranger Things (2016, Duffer Brothers)

Leading into another short series you can watch in one night, Stranger Things is the show of the summer (year?millennium?) Just because the cast is largely made up of youngsters doesn't mean it doesn't have creepy moments. The series features telekinesis, the Upside-Down and a monster and makes perfect viewing for getting into the Halloween spirit.
  4. Scream Queens (2015, Ryan Murphy)

Last year I wrote a post all about why people needed to be watching this series. It features Jamie-Lee Curtis, the ultimate 'scream queen,'  dark humour and a relatively great cast. As the series combines humour with horror it's definitely an easy watch for even the faint hearted, as the scary parts are pretty predictable. I would have to say so far i'm not ~digging~ season 2, but you should watch them for Halloween viewing, and make up your own judgements.
  5. The Twilight Zone (1959, Rod Serling)

This series might be older than your parents but that doesn't devalue just how great it is. With over 150 episodes that include the paranormal, psychological horror and science fiction. The series was revamped in the 80's and the early noughties but nothing beats the original and if you're after some old fashioned freakiness, then give this series a watch.
What would you say is the best TV show with a twist? I look forward to speaking to you all in my next post,
love, Aimee :) x
