First Impressions: Pink Parcel

A Little Bit of Lush

Hello everyone,
it's been a little while, mainly because I've been busy at work and planning some of my dissertation, but I'm back with a new post. This is going to be about Lush, the cosmetics/beauty chain which is as ethical as it is wonderful. I recently discovered that my local store is stocking some of the Oxford Street exclusives and so I went and got myself some treats with the hope of having a little series of hauls over the next couple of posts. In each one I'm hoping to give you a little view of three products I've purchased. In no way, shape or form is this post sponsored by Lush, I simply love their values and products and, as someone who is trying to make their makeup and beauty products vegan, I wanted to show that beauty doesn't have to be painful, for you or for animals.
So, let's get into the very first little bit of Lush (none of the following are Oxford St Exclusives):
  • Avobath (£3.35/ bath bomb)

This is a ball of absolute joy! When I first came across it at the Oxford Street store I wasn't won over, but on my visit to my local Lush I found myself completely drawn to the luscious citrus scent. I have also been on a massive avocado binge in recent weeks so the appeal is possibly related to that! As you can tell from the name of this bath bomb one of the main ingredients is avocado, which explains the luxuriously soft state of my skin post bath. The gorgeous citrus scent takes form from some of the other ingredients, specifically lemongrass which left me feeling uplifted and relaxed. I would highly recommend this product to someone who suffers from dry skin, as the olive oil and mashed avocado ingredients worked wonders in tackling the rougher parts of my skin. The scent isn't too overpowering and I felt incredibly refreshed after having used Avobath. Whilst most bath bombs from Lush are well loved for their magical multi coloured ripples within the water, Avobath is simply green but very Instagram worthy with its radioactive shade! This is undoubtedly one of my new favourite Lush products!

  • Mask of Magnaminty (£5.50/ 125g face mask)

This is a product I've been wanting to try for ages but, given that every face mask I've ever used has left me feeling like my flesh will melt off, I couldn't justify spending what I considered a lot of money on something that might have the same burning feeling. However, Mask of Magnaminty seems to have broken this face mask curse and I could not be happier! My skin is very sensitive and my cheeks are generally very rosy. This face mask calmed my skin and didn't leave any blotchy areas once removed. I was nervous about the main peppermint ingredient because I've used mint based products in the past to tackle breakouts and it made my skin extremely irritated, however, this face mask felt very cool on my skin, a feeling I'm not used to when it comes to products on my face and as a result I felt at ease leaving the product in for ten minutes to do its magic, rather than wiping away sections as I do with other face masks in search for irritated skin. The scent is absolutely beautiful and reminded me of mint choc chip ice cream, which is one of the main reasons I didn't want to wash it off. I only purchased the small pot as a way of testing the product without wasting a lot of money if it didn't go to plan, but I feel like 125g is more than enough product for me, I can truly see myself getting around 4 or 5 more masks from the pot. It also comes with a sticker stating the day it was made and the expiry date which I think is a great thing. When removing the mask I loved the way the evening primrose and aduki beans exfoliated my skin. I believe the mask is recommended for weekly use and in the past 5 days since I used the mask my face has felt smoother than usual and less blotchy and the small breakout I had has cleared up. I would 100% recommend this for anyone who suffers from breakouts! You can also use it on your body so there's no excuse for any product to be thrown away.

  • Think Pink (£2.65/ bath bomb)

Originally this was a little treat for my mum but as her skin is more sensitive than mine I had to use the product, and there are no complaints here. The scent reminded me of the sweets I'd eat as a child such as Love Hearts and Refreshers, which comes from the ingredients such as fair trade vanilla and lavender oil. I decided to rename Think Pink 'Princess Bath' because of the sweet pink shade the water turns and because of the cute surprise of rice paper heart shaped confetti which fizzes out of the bomb! Given that it is cheaper compared to their other bombs, I really think it's a great product for finishing off a gift for someone. I would think that anyone from a young child to a grandma would enjoy this fun little fizzing bath bomb!

That is all for this post! Let me know what Lush products are your favourite and what I should try next, thank you as always for taking the time to read this post
Love,
Aimee :) x
